Job Summary
Entry-level Locate Technician responsible for locating underground utilities, reading maps and blueprints, using locate equipment, and documenting/ticket processing. Training is provided on the job; candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather, independent, and able to problem-solve quickly. The role involves communicating with peers, managers, and homeowners, and may require on-call shifts and a flexible schedule. Company-provided vehicle is included for daily use.
Required Qualifications
- Eighteen years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day 2-3 times a week
- Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 25 lbs or lifting in excess of 75 lbs with tool aids
- Pass pre-employment background and drug screening
- Flexible schedule including some evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
