Job Summary
Locate Technician to identify and mark underground utility lines using specialized equipment, read utility maps/diagrams to determine buried services locations, accurately document work with laptops/tablets, and communicate with contractors, homeowners, and utility personnel. Role requires outdoor fieldwork, adherence to safety standards, independent work, and training provided to fully prepare new hires. Preferred but not required: experience in construction/utilities/field work and basic GPS/mobile mapping knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and customer service abilities
- Comfortable working outdoors and on foot for extended periods
- Ability to follow procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Willingness to travel locally and work occasional overtime or weekends as needed
