Localization Language Lead - French

Job Summary
Lead the linguistic direction for French localization across 2K’s game portfolio, owning the localization strategy, quality bar, and final sign-off for all French content (in-game text, UI, scripts, VO). Develop and enforce glossaries and style guides; ensure tone, clarity, fluency, and cultural relevance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide language decisions, act as the main linguistic escalation point for French-related bugs or QA challenges, and supervise entry- and mid-level linguists or vendors. Lead VO casting, script reviews, and creative sessions during French voiceover production; review builds for tone and cultural resonance; implement process improvements to reduce errors and improve turnaround time. Participate in Global Loc 2.0 initiatives to shape standards, practices, and tooling. Bachelor's degree plus strong localization experience, native French, advanced English, and ability to work independently on complex language projects are required or preferred as noted.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in translation, linguistics, media, or related field preferred
- Professional localization experience in games, tech, or entertainment
- Native fluency in French, with mastery of tone, grammar, and regional nuance
- Advanced English fluency (written and spoken)
- Ability to work independently on complex language projects
- Knowledge of platform-holder guidelines, naming conventions, and brand alignment principles
- Familiarity with localization tools (e.g., CAT tools, translation memory systems, XLOC, JIRA, CMS)
- Experience with VO scripting, dubbing production, and linguistic performance direction is a plus
