Job Summary

Conduct welding functions per jobsite specifications, including pipe, structural steel, and non-piping components using ARC, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, GAS, MIG, and TIG processes. Select equipment, plan layout and assembly, and fit up pipe as required. Perform grinding when necessary and adhere to precise limits and standards of accuracy for all welds. Identify safety hazards and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize risks while working outdoors in various elements. All welds are subject to NDE testing including visual, hydro, and 100% x-ray. This role requires passing a practical welding skill test and holding current certifications in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW or FCAW. Candidates must have at least five years of welding experience and complete Matrix Service Safety and Process Safety Management training. Full-time employees work up to 12 hours a day and receive a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and an employee stock purchase plan.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years or more welding experience
  • Must be able to pass a practical welding skill test required by the jobsite
  • Complete Matrix Service Safety training
  • Process Safety Management training
  • Client / Site specific training
  • MUST obtain and maintain active status within the appropriate drug testing program
  • MUST pass background check
  • Must possess current certification in SMAW, GTAW and GMAW or FCAW
  • Must be able to hear, speak, understand and communicate effectively
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs
  • Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind
  • Must be able to work for long periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots
  • TWIC card
  • 20-hour high hazard facility training card is preferred

Desired Qualifications

  • Verification of 8,000 craft related hours OR Graduated journeyperson status preferred
