Job Summary
Prepare, produce, and present a variety of foods while following standard food-handling procedures and completing production sheets. Perform mainline food production duties, maintain equipment and storage areas, and ensure work zones are cleaned and organized before shifts end. Assist in supervising and training food service personnel, verify serving lines are stocked and set up, and fill in for other general food service positions as needed. Adhere to all safety policies and recognize proper PPE usage. This non-rotational role supports the Maniilaq Health Association in Kotzebue, AK, requiring fluency in English and a fingerprinting background investigation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One (1) year of directly related cooking experience
- Alaska Food Workers Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 30 days of hire
- Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Act and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be a Kotzebue resident
Desired Qualifications
- At least two (2) years of directly related food preparation or vocational training
