Job Summary
Local Procurement Manager will serve as the central procurement contact for two European sites, handling all commercial and supplier-related topics including escalations, and will support Supply Chain Management in day-to-day operations. The role also progressively expands to Project Manager Purchasing, acting as the single voice of Purchasing in cross-functional projects to achieve targets in material cost, quality, and timing. The position is based in Bochum in the company’s new office and involves coordinating sourcing activities, aligning with regional/global procurement, managing stakeholder involvement, ensuring data transparency, and maintaining project documentation. Required skills include procurement, supplier management, cross-functional collaboration, SAP BW, MS Office, English and German proficiency, and strong communication and ownership-oriented mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in Procurement in an international environment
- Strong background in operational procurement and supplier management
- Solid understanding of commercial topics and procurement processes
- Experience in project-related procurement or cross-functional collaboration is advantageous
- Structured and analytical mindset
- Experience with supplier-related escalations
- Proficiency in MS Office and SAP (including SAP BW)
- Fluency in English and German (C1)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with ownership
- Team-oriented with ability to interface across functions
- Motivation to grow into a project-oriented procurement role
