Local P&D Driver (Class B)

Job Summary
Local P&D Driver (Class B) drives a Class B CDL Straight Truck to transport freight in compliance with FMCSA rules; performs pre-trip/post-trip inspections, secures cargo, and ensures safety and security of equipment and deliveries. May assist with dock loading/unloading and customer service. Hazmat endorsement is recommended but not required; may operate in varying schedules and use in-cab technology. Maintains records required by local, state, and federal regulations and reports maintenance issues promptly. Requires High School Diploma or GED, valid CDL, FMCSA Clearinghouse registration, English proficiency, and ability to meet physical and regulatory requirements. Office locations and travel conditions vary; capable of lifting 70 lbs and operating forklifts where applicable; drug screens and background checks are required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years old if interstate
- Must possess a valid Class B or Class A CDL
- Must be registered with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Must reside within 75 miles of domiciled Service Center/work assignment
- Air brake endorsement if equipped with air brakes
- Stable employment history preferred
- Ability to operate a forklift (minimum 7,500 lb)
- Must be able to push/pull 70 lbs
- Physical activities include standing, lifting, twisting, climbing
- Must provide acceptable MVR
- Must be familiar with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA rules
- Must pass FMCSA medical exam
- Must pass road test
- Must meet FMCSA English requirement
- Must lift approx 70 lbs or more
- Must drive all routes and terrains
- Must comply with company policies and interact well with others
- Work independently or in a team
- Able to work under tight deadlines
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Authorized to work in the United States
