Local P&D Driver (Class B)

Job Summary
Local P&D Driver (Class B) responsible for safely operating a Class B CDL Straight Truck to transport freight in compliance with FMCSA rules, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining required records, and providing courteous customer service. May perform dock duties including loading/unloading freight, and may work on different schedules/domains as needed. Hazmat endorsement is recommended but not required; position requires adherence to FMCSA regulations, vehicle inspections, documentation accuracy, and the ability to operate in various terrains and weather conditions. Must reside within 75 miles of the service center; valid CDL; pass drug screening and background checks; capable of lifting ~70 lbs and operating forklifts; able to communicate in English and work both independently and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years of age if going interstate (1 year driving experience required)
- Valid Class B or Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Must reside within 75 miles of the domiciled Service Center and/or work assignment
- Air brake endorsement required if equipped with air brakes
- Stable employment history preferred
- Ability to operate a forklift (minimum 7,500 lb. vehicle)
- Must be able to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 lbs
- Must be able to meet FMCSA requirements to speak and read English
- Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
- Must be able to drive all routes and in all types of terrain
- Must be able to drive in a wide range of environmental conditions
- Must be able to operate all safety and operational functions of equipment
- Must be able to comply with company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
- Must be able to interact well with others
- Must be able to work independently or in a team setting
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and random drug/alcohol tests and background check
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
