Job Summary
Operate a tractor/trailer to transport freight in compliance with FMCSA regulations; perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and ensure security of equipment and cargo. Adhere to safety procedures, trucking regulations, and paperwork verification (unit numbers vs. paperwork), with potential dock/loading/unloading duties and occasional over-the-road work as needed. May use in-cab technology and electronic logs; capable of driving in diverse terrains and environmental conditions, and working either independently or as part of a team. Must meet physical requirements (lifting, climbing, addressing safety protocols) and pass pre-employment screenings (drug, alcohol, medical, road test). Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to operate per FMCSA standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- 21 years of age per FMCSA
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse registration
- Must reside within 75 miles of domiciled Service Center/work assignment
- HazMat, Tanker and Doubles endorsements
- Ability to drive tractor-trailer per FMCSA requirements
- Stable employment history preferred
- Ability to operate a forklift (minimum 7,500 lb)
- Physical ability to lift at least 70 lbs
- Must meet English language requirements (read/speak)
