Job Summary
Operate a tractor/trailer to transport freight in compliance with FMCSA rules, maintain required records, conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensure security of equipment and cargo. Perform dock duties as needed, utilize in-cab technology (including electronic logs), and adapt to varying schedules/OTR needs while upholding safety and regulatory standards. Must hold a valid Class A CDL, HazMat/Tanker/Doubles endorsements, pass medical and road tests, and meet Americans with Disabilities Act/physical requirements. Strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, and professional customer service; capable of lifting heavy loads and working in diverse environments. Location-specific duties include operating under company safety guidance and potentially performing dock/loading tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 21 years of age required per FMCSA regulations
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse registration
- Residence within 75 miles of domiciled Service Center/work assignment
- HazMat, Tanker and Doubles endorsements required
- Ability to drive a tractor trailer per FMCSA requirements
- Stable employment history preferred
- Ability to operate a forklift (minimum 7,500 lb)
- Ability to push/pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck (minimum 70 lbs)
- Physical ability to perform duties (lifting, bending, climbing, etc.)
- Able to provide acceptable MVR
- Familiarity with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA rules
- Must pass FMCSA medical exam
- Must pass road test
- English reading/writing proficiency
- Able to lift ~70 lbs or more as needed
- Able to drive all routes and terrains
- Able to work in various weather conditions
- Operate safety/operational functions of equipment
