Job Summary
Local P&D Driver (Class A) operates tractor-trailer to transport freight in compliance with FMCSA regulations and company policies. Responsibilities include pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing cargo, maintaining regulatory records, and may include dock loading/unloading. Requires handling hazardous materials, compliance with safety standards, possible over-the-road assignments based on business needs, use of in-cab electronic logs, and professional customer service. Must possess a valid Class A CDL, pass FMCSA medical and road tests, and meet physical and safety requirements; English literacy and drug testing/background checks are required. The role may involve operating in varied terrains and schedules, with adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year driving experience
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Must reside within 75 miles of the domiciled Service Center and/or work assignment
- HazMat endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Doubles endorsement
- Must be able to drive a tractor-trailer per FMCSA requirements
- Must be able to pass FMCSA medical exam and road test
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to operate a forklift (minimum 7,500 lb)
- Must be able to lift ~70 lbs repeatedly
- Must be able to read/write English
