Job Summary
Conduct local chemical treatments for oil wells and deliver hazardous materials to customers, plants, and warehouses within a 50-mile radius of McCook, NE. Perform daily and periodic mechanical inspections to maintain truck and equipment safety, manage chemical inventory reports, and prepare daily bills of lading. Schedule treatment orders, submit reports to sales, and communicate field problems or safety hazards to supervisors. Operate vehicles with HazMat and Tanker endorsements while adhering to DOT hours of service using logbook reporting. Handle products in bulk, drums, and feed units, and perform warehouse duties including receiving shipments and organizing storage areas. Maintain a professional manner with sales teams and stay current on safety techniques, including H2S precautions. Work 10-12 hour day shifts Monday through Friday with occasional weekend rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Must currently hold a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), issued by the state in which the candidate resides
- Must have HazMat and Tanker Endorsements or be willing to be obtain within 30 days
- One (1) year of commercial driving experience, compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT regulations, within the past three years
- Acceptable motor vehicle record (3 years)
- Must be comfortable working with cameras in the truck cab
- No manual transmission restrictions
- Must have the ability to Lift/Carry up to 50 pounds chest high
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Must reside within 50 miles of McCook, NE
Desired Qualifications
- Three (3) years commercial driving experience, compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT regulations, within the past five years
- Experience with the operation of forklifts, drum dollies, trailer hoists, chemical pumps, hoses, meters, printers and gauges
- Experience with handling products in various types of packages including bulk, drums, Porta-Feeds and mini/micro-feed units
- Knowledge of precautions needed if exposed to H2S (hydrogen sulfide)
- Experience in customer relations
- Experience performing warehouse duties, which include preventative maintenance, inventory and ordering of chemicals, receiving incoming shipments, organizing warehouse for safe and efficient chemical storage, operation of customized chemical manufacturing equipment and the upkeep of warehouse grounds
- Awareness of chemical safety and the measures to take in the event of skin contact or spill
