Job Summary
Local Government Affairs Manager at Zipline will be a public-facing role coordinating relationships with local government officials across multiple metros and states, managing site visits, and leading city-level engagements to enable Zipline’s autonomous drone delivery. You will work on land use, permitting, and local approvals, monitor policy proposals, develop outreach plans to elected officials, and represent Zipline at council meetings, community events, and industry conferences. The role requires collaboration across teams to ensure operational continuity, plus the ability to present complex technology to diverse audiences and travel up to 50% of the time. Bonus points for experience in technology policy related to autonomy, robotics, or transportation; excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience in government affairs at the state or local level
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), advocacy, and interpersonal skills
