Job Summary
Local Driver role operating a commercial motor vehicle (tractor trailer or straight truck) for local household goods shipments. Leads helper/laborers on moves, completes related paperwork (Bills of Lading, duty-status logs, military/government paperwork), inventories items, properly stacks and secures goods, and assists with loading/unloading, packing, and warehouse duties. Requires ensuring safety, performing preventive maintenance checks, delivering and unpacking goods at customer residences, and maintaining up-to-date logs for intrastate/interstate moves. Requires 1-2 years of driving tractor trailer and household goods experience, CDL with Class A/B as applicable, and a clean safety record; physical ability to lift heavy boxes, operate equipment, and perform moving tasks with professionalism and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience driving tractor trailer plus one year of household goods experience for Class A; 6 months experience driving a straight truck and 6 months of household goods experience for Class B; excellent safety record; no more than 3 moving violations in past 12 months; no more than 5 in past 24 months; ability to read and interpret operating and procedure manuals
