Job Summary
Operate Class A CDL equipment to move freight safely and efficiently using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Record shipment exceptions to minimize cargo claims and manage paperwork including delivery receipts, bills of lading, and hazardous material manifests. Execute multiple deliveries while maintaining customer service standards and utilizing electronic devices for required information. Make decisions to maximize efficiency and meet reliability standards, including the ability to chain, work inclement weather, and travel to nearby terminals. Work various shifts to accommodate business levels.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years old
- Class A CDL
- At least one year of verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment
- Valid DOT Medical Certification
- Must have a clean driving record. No DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in the last 3 years
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and dispatch/managers
- Basic English proficiency in reading, writing and verbal communication
- Ability to chain as needed
- Availability to work various shifts as needed to accommodate business levels
- Ability to travel to nearby terminals
Desired Qualifications
- Hazmat, Tanker, and Double/Triples endorsements
- Doubles/triples & chaining experience
