Job Summary
Drive a Class A tractor trailer to transport products from the warehouse to customer locations, ensuring timely delivery and proper unloading according to invoices and standards. Safely operate the vehicle day and night in various weather conditions, managing backhauls and line hauls while maintaining strict food safety protocols and sanitary conditions. Complete all required paperwork including DOT logs, inspections, and maintenance reports, and communicate immediately with management regarding route deviations or unsafe conditions. Maintain good relationships with customers through courteous service and clear communication. Work assigned schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet customer needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Must be insurable to operate a vehicle
- Currently authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Knowledge of Hazmat guidelines
- Knowledge of Safe lifting and delivery practices
- Skill in driving over long distances
- Skill in driving over a variety of terrains
- Skill in driving in varying weather conditions
- Skill in communicating with customers
- Skill in solving problems

- Ability to drive a tractor-trailer unit both in the day and at night
- Ability to remain alert and aware of surroundings

- Ability to handle food and restaurant items that are frozen, dry and refrigerated
- Ability to operate a 3 axle tractor
- Ability to operate a 45' - 48' trailer
- Ability to operate a straight truck
- Ability to operate an on board computer
- Ability to operate a key pad
- Ability to operate a 2 wheel hand cart
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations
- Ability to perform basic math functions (e.g. add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision
- Ability to solve problems
- Ability to lift, push, or move product that weighs up to 50 pounds by hand
- Ability to push/pull up to 350 pounds of product with a 2-wheeled hand cart
- Ability to climb in and out of a tractor and trailer
- Ability to reach to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart
- Ability to bend and twist while loading and unloading product

Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree
- 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience
- Completion of a tractor trailer driving school
