Job Summary
Drive a Class A tractor trailer from the warehouse to various customer locations, delivering and unloading products according to invoices and company standards. Safely transport goods via backhauls and line hauls, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining proper food safety protocols and vehicle sanitation. Unload products by hand or using hand carts in all weather conditions, scan items upon delivery, and handle damaged goods or customer returns. Complete all required paperwork including DOT logs, maintenance reports, and daily invoices, and report any damages or shortages promptly. Maintain relationships with customers through clear communication and immediately advise management of unsafe conditions or route deviations. Work assigned evening schedules from Sunday through Friday, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations as needed to meet customer demands.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Must be insurable to operate a vehicle
- Currently authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Knowledge of Hazmat guidelines
- Knowledge of safe lifting and delivery practices
- Skill in driving over long distances, over a variety of terrains and in varying weather conditions
- Skill in communicating with customers
- Skill in solving problems
- Skill in delivering product
- Ability to drive a tractor-trailer unit both in the day and at night in a variety of traffic and weather conditions
- Ability to remain alert and aware of surroundings
- Ability to meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company
- Ability to handle hazardous materials and food and restaurant items that are frozen, dry and refrigerated
- Ability to operate a 3 axle tractor, 45' - 48' trailer, straight truck, on board computer, key pad and a 2 wheel hand cart
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations
- Ability to perform basic math functions (e.g. add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision
- Ability to solve problems
- Ability to lift, push, or move product that weighs up to 50 pounds by hand
- Ability to push/pull up to 350 pounds of product with a 2-wheeled hand cart
- Ability to climb in and out of a tractor and trailer
- Ability to reach to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart
- Ability to bend and twist while loading and unloading product
- Ability to retrieve items from trailer

Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree
- 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience
- Completion of a tractor trailer driving school
