Job Summary
Pick up items from suppliers or customers and deliver them to designated destinations while adhering to traffic laws and company policies. Safely load and unload cargo, plan and optimize delivery routes to minimize travel time, and perform routine vehicle inspections including checking fluid levels and tire pressure. Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, maintain organized records of deliveries and mileage, and report any issues or accidents to appropriate personnel. Provide courteous service to customers and address their questions regarding shipments. This role requires a valid Class A CDL, clean driving record, and ability to work varying schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or similar role, preferably in a commercial or logistics setting
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Reliable and punctual with strong time management skills
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience operating delivery vehicles, such as vans, trucks, or commercial vehicles
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures
- Hazardous materials endorsement or other relevant certifications
