Local CDL Driver

Job Summary
Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently on local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight to prevent damage during transit. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns. Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and electronic records in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly. Work Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 15:00, with some Saturday work as needed but very limited.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B
- Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations applicable to commercial driving
- Experience operating commercial vehicles in a local delivery environment
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Proficient vehicle operation and navigation skills
- Effective communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and basic cargo handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts
- Strong customer service skills and experience interacting with clients during deliveries
- Additional endorsements on CDL such as Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability
