Job Summary
Maintain the highest standard of quality and safety while ensuring timely and accurate delivery of concrete by operating an 80,000 lbs ready-mix truck in accordance with federal and state regulations. Perform pre and post-trip inspections per DOT guidelines, document required repairs, and load and pour concrete using ladders, main chutes, and extension chutes while navigating heavy traffic. Wash residual concrete off the truck and barrel, read delivery tickets, and communicate with dispatch. Maintain delivery, truck, and driving records per company policies. Requires a valid CDL-B (or CDL-A), DOT medical card, drug screen, and one year of preferred driving experience. Start times range from 12:00 am to 9:00 am with daily plant calls by 4/5 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license CDL-A or CDL-B
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a drug screen
- Able to work a variable schedule
- Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds on a regular basis, throughout the day
- Must be able to climb on traditional and truck ladders
- Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Stand/sit for long periods of time
- Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl
- Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them
- Make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists while driving
- Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out
- Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place
- Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away
- Use muscles to jump, sprint, or throw objects
- Use muscles for extended periods of time
- Be physically active for long periods of time
- Determine from which direction a sound came
- See differences between colors, shades, and brightness
- 1 year of preferred driving experience
