Job Summary
Transport steel service center products safely and efficiently, adhering to all State and Federal Highway Rules and Regulations. Ensure proper loading, weight distribution, and load security to protect goods from damage and shifting during transit. Inspect fleet equipment for maintenance and cleanliness, while utilizing new technology and innovative truck equipment. Maintain a professional demeanor with customers, supervisors, and law enforcement, and immediately report any accidents or problems to the Traffic Manager. Prepare for unloading at destinations and supervise the process. This role requires a CDL A with proper endorsements, a clean driving record, and at least six months of verifiable Class A experience. New drivers must complete the "Gearing Up" program, including online classes, a ride-along, and a 30-day field training period.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- At least 21 years old
- Must have a CDL with proper endorsements
- Safe driving record
- Must pass DOT physical exam and drug test
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing
- Minimum of 6 months verifiable experience driving Class A vehicles
