Job Summary
Conduct local shuttle runs between a Phoenix bakery plant and distribution center, hauling dedicated dry freight on liftgate trailers. Perform live loading and full hand unloading of bread stacks, sealing and securing trailers before each trip. Execute occasional local deliveries when the plant is caught up while operating solo. Drive at night with yard hosting required at both locations, navigating tight backing areas. Work night shifts with weekend availability, averaging 1,000 miles weekly, and return home daily. This critical role supports a bakery account where safety expectations are high due to the risk of plant shutdowns.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years or older
- Valid Class A CDL
- Must have held a U.S. driver's license the last 12 consecutive months
- Current DOT medical card (new DOT physical required at hire)
- No endorsements required for this position
- 6 months OTR experience within the last 12 months, OR 12 months OTR experience within the last 5 years
- Experienced drivers only — no trainees or recent graduates on this account
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years
- No serious traffic violations in the last 12 months
- Speeding 30+ MPH over = automatic disqualification for 3 years
- Original ticket copies required for all citations in the last 3 years
- No more than 1 DOT preventable accident in the last 2 years
- No major preventable accidents in the last 5 years
- No more than 3 preventable incidents in the last 2 years
- Preventable rear-end accident = 1 year disqualification
- Accident reports required for ALL accidents in the last 5 years
- No more than 4 driving jobs in the last 12 months
- No more than 1 safety-related termination in the last 5 years
- No DUI/DWI in a commercial vehicle — ever
- No DUI/DWI in the last 10 years while holding a CDL or CLP
- No DUI/DWI in the 5 years before obtaining your CDL or CLP
- No multiple DUI/DWIs
- No failed or refused drug tests — no exceptions
- Hair AND urine testing required, both must be passed
- No drug-related convictions in the last 5 years
- Must live within 50 miles of ZIP 85043 (Phoenix, AZ)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for night shift
- Must be able to work holidays (except Thanksgiving and Christmas)
