Job Summary
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, verify inventory accuracy, and ensure secure, damage-free deliveries of building materials to job sites within a 200-mile radius. Assess job site conditions to prevent hazards, collaborate with customers for material placement, and document deliveries with photos per company policy. Load and unload materials using forklifts or manually in varied weather and noisy environments while maintaining safety protocols and DOT/OSHA compliance. Manage long hours driving and handling materials up to 100 lbs, adhering to a schedule that requires no overnight stays. This role supports operational efficiency for SRS Distribution Inc., a leading roofing distributor, through professionalism, teamwork, and responsiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B with air brakes endorsement
- Clean driving record
- Ability to operate forklifts/Moffett's safely
- Ability to work in varied conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Age 18+ (21 for interstate/hazmat)
- Pass background checks
- Pass drug tests
- Verification via the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) Clearinghouse
- 1-2 years of relevant commercial driving experience
- Current DOT Medical Certificate
- FMCSA Registration
- Demonstrates strong safety compliance through inspections and adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations
- Must manage long hours
- Must manage fast-paced schedules
- Must travel within a 200-mile radius
- Must be physically capable of long hours driving and handling materials up to 100 lbs
- Must be able to load/unloading with forklifts or manually
