Job Summary
Vice President of Finance leads the accounting function and collaborates with the executive team and Board to execute strategic financial objectives. Responsibilities include managing finance and accounting operations, establishing policies and internal controls, hiring and leading cross-functional teams (accounting, HR, IT), overseeing monthly closes and external reporting, coordinating annual budgeting with the executive team and PE sponsor, delivering timely financial reports, driving ERP enhancements (NetSuite), developing internal project cost-tracking, leading external audits, maintaining KPI dashboards, supporting acquisition due diligence and post-close integration, and liaising with private equity sponsors and lenders. The role requires a strong foundation in GAAP accrual accounting, financial policy development, ERP experience, and experience in retail/distribution/manufacturing sectors, with emphasis on leadership and strategic collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- MBA/Master’s degree in accounting/related preferred
- CPA preferred but not required
- Minimum of 2-3 years serving as a Controller/similar position for a mid-sized company
- Minimum of 4 years of audit at a national public accounting firm
- ERP implementation (NetSuite preferred)
- Experience with organizations in retail, distribution or manufacturing
- M&A due diligence, post-acquisition integration, and onboarding experience
- Exceptional analytical, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Private equity sponsor experience is highly valued
