Job Summary
Urban Beekeeper role focused on maintaining client hive sites on a three-week service cycle, installing new hives and equipment, performing routine hive inspections, harvesting honey (target ~30 pounds per hive per season), collecting samples and field data to monitor hive health and environmental conditions, and delivering accurate digital records and service reports. Travel by car to client sites and workshops, educate communities about beekeeping and biodiversity, and operate with flexible scheduling. Requires hands-on beekeeping experience, independent work capability, comfort with digital logging tools (e.g., Zuper), and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Compensation is base pay per contract with scheduling built around capacity and availability.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on beekeeping experience
- Strong knowledge of hive health and seasonal management
- Availability to service hives on a recurring schedule throughout the season
- Valid driverâs license and reliable access to a vehicle
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfort using mobile and digital tools to log visits, tasks, and data (training provided)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially for record-keeping and compliance
- Professional, friendly communication style
