Job Summary
Urban Beekeeper responsible for maintaining client beehives on a three-week service cycle, installing new hives, conducting routine hive inspections, harvesting honey (target ~30 pounds per hive/season), collecting field data, completing digital service records, and delivering workshops to engage communities. Travel by car to client sites and beekeeping depots, with flexible scheduling and a base monthly compensation for each contract. The role emphasizes independent work, beekeeping health monitoring, data logging with digital tools, and effective client communication within a 1099 contractor arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on beekeeping experience
- Strong knowledge of hive health and seasonal management
- Availability to service hives on a recurring schedule throughout the season
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfort using mobile and digital tools to log visits, tasks, and data (training provided)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially for record-keeping and compliance
- Professional, friendly communication style
- Valid driverâs license and reliable access to a vehicle
- Comfort working at heights and ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Willingness to travel regularly to client sites and beekeeping yards
