Job Summary
Design and implement local area networks in a school environment; supervise the installation, maintenance, and operation of LAN hardware and software; coordinate with the Director of Technology to evaluate networking needs and recommend improvements; diagnose and resolve complex LAN issues. Install LAN components including servers, hubs, routers, workstations, printers, and other peripherals; monitor performance and upgrade hardware/software; train building-level technical staff and maintain documentation of network configurations and service records. Possesses strong knowledge of local network architecture and operating systems; contributes to long- and short-range technology planning and stays current with trends in LAN systems.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree
- Two years’ experience in a network environment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Certification as a Novell Administrator, Novel Engineer, or Microsoft Engineer preferred.
