Job Summary
The Loan Officer is responsible for soliciting mortgage loans, assisting borrowers in completing loan applications, providing required disclosures, and gathering support documents. This role involves customer support in selecting loan programs, developing sales campaigns, and maintaining relationships with realtors and borrowers. The position requires the ability to evaluate credit applications, knowledge of commercial loan products, and strong computer skills. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, or equivalent work experience
- At least 3 years’ experience as a mortgage loan officer or comparable experience originating loans
- Must be eligible for NMLS registration and licensing
- Analytical ability to evaluate credit applications and to make fair and impartial decisions
- Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to mortgage lending
- Experience and strong, proficient computer skills in programs such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and data processing software
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform in a high-volume environment
- Dependable, self-motivated and require minimal supervision
