Job Summary
Scan and index all documents for residential, commercial, and consumer loans into the computer system. Verify documentation for incoming loans, identify exceptions to regulations and policies, and assist loan officers with research on recorded documentation. Resolve customer questions, perform clerical duties, and inventory files while conducting periodic audits to purge obsolete information. Compile correspondence, prepare monthly and quarterly reports, and communicate with state, federal, and independent auditors. Maintain knowledge of loan policies, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and Truth in Lending Act.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of one year clerical and loan operations experience
- Minimum of one year experience as a real estate loan assistant, closing agent, or equivalent experience
- Proven knowledge of loan policies and procedures
- Intimate knowledge of Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act, Truth in Lending, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, FNMA guidelines, and other compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and employees, and listen effectively
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to and use other PC based software packages
- Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks and tasks using only fingers
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to transmit information in written form
- Ability to lift and carry files weighing 20-25 pounds from both high and low positions
- Ability to work in small areas
- Ability to maintain matters of a highly confidential nature
- Honesty must be an essential ingredient in all matters
