Job Summary
Bilingual Loan Counselor I handles delinquent mortgage accounts, negotiates payment arrangements per Agency/Investor Guidelines and Planet Home Lending policy, maintains online collection history, assists other loan counselors, and performs inbound/outbound calls using skip trace methods. The role requires professional-level bilingual communication with customers, strong analytical and negotiating skills, data entry accuracy, and a teamwork-driven, fast-paced call-center environment. The position emphasizes compliance with investor rules, proper documentation of collection events, and the ability to reference mitigation processes when needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience using a second language in a professional capacity (language testing may be required)
- One year of collection experience or equivalent
- Mortgage collection experience a plus
- Strong analytical and negotiating skills
- Data Entry Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work well on a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in a call center
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows applications
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
