Job Summary
Operate a large, wheeled loader safely under supervisor direction to support excavation and trench shoring for water and sewer pipe systems. Assist in loading, unloading, and transporting materials using the bucket or forks, then transport and dump bedding and backfill material into trenches. Load trucks safely and efficiently while communicating clearly with crew members via verbal and non-verbal hand signals. Recognize hazardous conditions immediately and report them to the supervisor. Follow all required safety rules, policies, and guidelines, and perform other labor-related duties as assigned. Work days, nights, and weekends as required. Minimum 3 years of loader experience on water and sewer construction projects is needed, including placing bedding material into open-cut trenches and backfilling pipe.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of loader experience on water and sewer construction projects, including placing bedding material into open-cut trenches
- Experience moving various materials within utility-type projects with open trenches and other job site hazards
- Previous experience backfilling pipe
- Reliable transportation
- Physical ability to perform assigned labor-related tasks (climbing ladders, entering/exiting ditches)
- Physical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- General operating skills and attention to safety and efficiency
- Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
- Work days, nights, and weekends as required
- Relocation may be required for ongoing opportunities and career growth
