Loader Operator - Underground Utilities

Job Summary
Safely operate wheel loaders on underground utility and civil construction projects, loading, moving, stockpiling, and placing materials such as gravel, sand, pipe bedding, and backfill. Supply excavators and underground crews with materials as required while loading trucks and moving materials efficiently around the site. Perform backfilling and assist with site grading and cleanup, working safely around open excavations, existing utilities, ground personnel, and other equipment. Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns, following site-specific safety requirements and procedures. Maintain a valid Class 5 driver's license and work outdoors in changing weather conditions, with overtime and extended hours required during the construction season.
Required Qualifications
- Previous loader operating experience
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Reliable transportation

- Experience working around water, sanitary, and storm utility installation
- Ability to safely operate in tight areas and around ground crews
- Good understanding of equipment capabilities, site conditions, and safe operating practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with operators, pipelayers, laborers, and supervisors
- Reliable, safety-focused, and willing to work as part of a team
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather and site conditions
- Willingness to work overtime and extended hours when required during the construction season
