Job Summary
Start engine, shift gears, and operate a straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type loader equipped with a front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket to lift and transport bulk materials to storage or processing areas. Move levers to lower and tilt the bucket, drive the vehicle to the work site, raise and tilt the filled bucket, and dump material. Perform routine maintenance including lubricating, fueling, and cleaning the equipment. Judge distances and slopes accurately while maintaining safety habits in dusty or dirty surroundings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Proper certification
- Appropriate training and experience
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and crouch
- Must be able to use hands, arms, and legs fully
- Must see well (either naturally or with correction)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to perform frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to judge distances and slopes accurately
- Must be able to make decisions based on verifiable standards
- Must be able to practice good safety habits
- Must be able to work in dusty or dirty surroundings
- Must be able to follow instructions and meet set standards
