Job Summary
Loader position at Airgas in Lansing, MI responsible for safely operating equipment and handling gas cylinders, loading/unloading cylinders onto route trucks, labeling and inspecting cylinders, and preparing high-pressure and cryogenic vessels for filling. Role includes reading cylinder labels and color-coding, performing safety checks per government and company standards, maintaining inventory and paperwork to DOT/FDA/OSHA standards, and collaborating with a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to safely operate a forklift (training may be provided)
- Experience in manufacturing operations preferred
- Filling or loading experience is a plus
- Familiarity with gas, welding, and safety supply industry or chemical industry valued
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and comprehend MSDS
- Strong collaboration skills
- Self-motivated and able to work in fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and precision
- Ability to perform basic calculations in all units
- Physical dexterity to navigate plant floor
- Capacity to lift/move up to 60 pounds and move up to 800 pounds with equipment
