Job Summary
Obtain and confirm travel tickets and load/unload plans at the start of each kiln cycle, then sort tickets by car side. Perform manual loading and unloading of products to and from kiln cars using established procedures. Operate the hydraulic transfer car to move kiln cars, verifying movement via control panel indicators. Stack and unstack Tochi in baskets, input process data into CAPAC, and transfer completed pallets to the Fired Body Rack Server or Stock Yard. Keep products clean using gloves and established handling techniques, verify fire shield placement, clean Tana plates, and report work-related issues to management. Follow all safety protocols, including avoiding forklifts, using personnel doors, and notifying the Team Leader of equipment leaks or hazards. Participate in preventive maintenance, machine maintenance, and Global 5S activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must be able to successfully complete all required job training
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to use a pallet jack to frequently move 400-500 pounds
- Must be able to successfully complete all required job training
Desired Qualifications
- 6 month manufacturing/warehousing experience or equivalent
- CRC Bronze or above
- Preferred Certified Production Technician program completion
