Job Summary
Greet customers, ensure their comfort, and provide high-level service while answering phones and operating the cash register. Pull orders from stock by type, style, and quantity as directed, inspect merchandise, and handle returns. Load and unload delivery trucks using a forklift, safely handling items up to 100 pounds, and unload incoming freight to verify counts. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment while completing necessary reports on orders filled and materials received. Stand up to eight hours, lift frequently, and work outdoors in varying elements. Pass forklift operator training and maintain authorization. Promote team concept and participate in all required company-sponsored training programs.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to operate a cash register (computer) equipment
- Ability to do math, read orders, and follow instructions
- Ability to communicate with customers, other employees, and supervisors using verbal and written skills
- Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills both on the telephone and in person
- Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
- Ability to stand up to 8 hours at a time
- Ability to reach overhead to grasp materials
- Ability to sit, climb and/or balance, lift, twist, and bend, stoop, or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis
- Strength: maximum lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 pounds, frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with manual dexterity
- Vision (acuity, depth perception, field of vision, accommodation)
- Must successfully pass company-provided forklift operator training program and maintain authorization through safe operation and following of procedures
