Job Summary

Administer truck assignments to loads by prioritizing based on customer requirements, commitments, and tractor production using the AS400 system. Manage Fleet Manager requests for production and home time while reviewing geographical areas for inbound, outbound, and empty truck status to maximize asset utilization. Coordinate drop yard and terminal utilization within assigned territories, allocate trailers to customers, and monitor on-time pickups and deliveries. Provide coverage at the driver window, communicate with internal and external customers, and distribute necessary paperwork. Schedule may vary based on shifts needed. This role supports Werner Enterprises' logistics services across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Knowledge of Werner Enterprises policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations with regards to the trucking industry
  • Excellent decision making skills in logistical planning
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong typing skills of at least 35-40 wpm
  • Knowledge of U.S. geography
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing, Management, or Transportation/Logistics, or equivalent experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Two to three years customer service experience
  • Two to three years transportation experience
  • One to two years AS400 or P.C. experience
