Load Planner (Supply Chain/Logistics)

Job Summary
Load Planner coordinates freight movement and customer service; plans and optimizes shipments using Transportation Manager System, tendering freight to third-party carriers, and updating shipment information while responding to internal and external inquiries. Responsible for providing visibility to management and customers by tracking shipments, auditing, researching, and troubleshooting operational issues. Major duties include load-building (adding shipments, rating loads, securing carrier coverage and appointment setting), identifying shipping opportunities (e.g., truckload multi-stops, consolidation), delivering excellent customer service to assigned accounts, handling call center and shared inbox responsibilities, maintaining daily logs, and executing other projects as assigned. On-site schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (4 days in-office).
Required Qualifications
- Experience coordinating freight movements
- Proficiency with Transportation Management System (TMS)
- Customer service experience
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to plan and optimize shipments
- Carrier tendering and appointment setting
- Load-building and load rating
- Proactive communication with customers and internal teams
- Ability to manage daily logs and tracking
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
