Job Summary
Load Planners coordinate freight movement and customer service; process orders; plan and optimize shipments into loads using Transportation Manager System; tender freight to third-party carriers; update the Transportation Manager System with current shipment information and respond to internal and external customer inquiries. Load Planners also provide visibility to management and the customer by tracking, process oversight, auditing, researching, and troubleshooting operational issues or functions. Major responsibilities include load-building (adding shipments to a load, rating a load, securing carrier coverage and appointment setting), monitoring MCP emails, identifying shipping opportunities for improved performance, providing excellent customer service to assigned accounts, call center and shared email box responsibilities, tracking shipments, load exception investigation, recovering customer loads, completing daily logs and trackers, and providing detailed instructions for various customers and shifts by phone and e-mail. Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
