Job Summary
Load Planner coordinates with Sales/Warehouse to plan assets and personnel, communicates pickup and delivery information to driver managers and carriers, facilitates loading and equipment issues with the warehouse, coordinates with Customer Service to secure equipment for shipments, plans loads to optimize ROI, and ensures on-time delivery requirements are met by working with Driver Managers and shippers, while forecasting regional freight needs and addressing delays or problems; position requires fast-paced multi-tasking and strong communication skills and includes benefits such as health coverage, tuition assistance, PTO, 401(k), and a quarterly bonus program.
Required Qualifications
- Truck dispatch/planning/distribution experience required
- Basic computer skills required in Outlook and Excel
- Experience with transportation software is preferred
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Shipper/trucking industry experience preferred
- Education: High school diploma or GED required
