Load Planner - Afternoon Shift

Process customer orders, plan and optimize shipments into loads, and tender freight to third-party carriers. Update the Transportation Management System with current shipment information and provide detailed instructions to customers and associates via phone and email. Track trucks for pick-up and delivery, estimate arrival times, and recover loads when necessary while investigating and reporting exceptions. Audit operational issues, research functions, and troubleshoot problems to provide visibility to management and the customer. Handle rate negotiations with carriers on a spot rate basis, identify cost savings opportunities, and weigh alternative financial decisions before taking action. Complete daily logs and trackers. Supports a Monday to Friday afternoon shift with occasional Saturday support.
