Load Out Technician

Job Summary

Prepare, handle, and move materials and equipment to support daily operations and project schedules. Perform safe rigging and lifting operations following approved procedures, operate forklifts to stage and load components, and set up spooling operations with correct tension and alignment. Inspect and secure loads for proper weight distribution, conduct pre-use inspections on equipment, and coordinate with supervisors to complete load-outs within timeframes. Maintain accurate records and keep work areas compliant with safety standards. This 12-hour shift role requires forklift certification and rigging skills in an industrial environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a load-out, warehouse, yard, or industrial operations role involving material handling
  • Demonstrated competency in rigging and lifting operations in an industrial or construction environment
  • Proficient forklift operation skills, including handling heavy and oversized loads
  • Strong understanding of safety compliance, including adherence to site rules, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to read and follow load plans, instructions, and basic technical documentation
  • Physically capable of working 12-hour shifts, 5 days per week, including manual handling and working outdoors in varying conditions
  • Willingness and flexibility to occasionally work evenings to meet operational needs
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team under time-sensitive conditions
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Valid forklift operator certification

Desired Qualifications

  • Recognised rigging and lifting certification or training (e.g. basic or intermediate rigging)
  • OSHA or equivalent safety training certification
  • Experience with spooling operations for cable, wireline, or similar products
  • Familiarity with oil and gas, marine, or heavy industrial environments
  • Experience using basic hand tools and equipment related to load-out and spooling activities
  • Exposure to basic inventory control or materials tracking systems
