Job Summary
Maintain adequate silage and roughage supply for daily feed production by transporting material from the silage pit to the mill using a front-end loader. Stockpile hulls and silage, while ensuring equipment operation through required servicing tasks such as fueling, fluid checks, greasing, and cleaning. Clean the area around the roughage box by shoveling, sweeping, or blowing spilled material, and strictly comply with all safety rules and policies regarding exposure to airborne particles and moving mechanical parts. Wear daily hardhat and respiratory protection while working near cattle, horses, and vehicles in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to wear hardhat; eye, ear, and respiratory protection daily
- Ability to push/pull, reach, bend, run, sit, stand, jump, climb, squat, kneel, lift, carry, twist, grasp/squeeze
- Ability to work with or near cattle, horses, vehicles, and equipment in all weather conditions
