Job Summary
Load Builder I performs routine loading/unloading of materials in yard/work site, builds loads for delivery, reads work orders, and uses equipment like hand trucks, forklifts, and cutters. Must observe safety procedures, read orders, determine load weight and placement, and label materials for proper identification. Requires forklift certification and the ability to handle weights up to 80 pounds, with daily tasks including loading, stacking, bracing, padding, and conveying materials. Strong emphasis on safety, manual dexterity, ability to read/write, and basic tool use; occurs in a production/yard environment at BFS with an emphasis on teamwork and adherence to safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- three months experience performing these or similar tasks
- Forklift certification required
- Forklift operator certification
- Knowledge of safety procedures while performing forklift driving and materials handling tasks
- Ability to read and write to handle work orders and labeling tasks
