Job Summary
Load Builder I performs routine loading and unloading of materials, builds loads for delivery, reads work orders, and uses forklifts and hand tools to safely and efficiently prepare shipments. Responsibilities include securing loads with strapping/padding, determining weight and placement for balance, moving materials between storage and delivery areas, identifying items with labels/tags, and adhering to all safety procedures. The role requires forklift operation knowledge, ability to handle weights up to 80 pounds, basic reading/writing for work orders, and a teamwork-oriented, safety-conscious approach in a yard/production setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Forklift certification
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
- Ability to read and follow work orders
- Knowledge of safety procedures in forklift and materials handling
- Basic math and labeling abilities
- Ability to use hand tools and perform load-building tasks
- Experience with moving materials using hand truck or forklift
- Ability to work in a production/yard environment
