Job Summary
Load Builder I at Builders FirstSource performs routine loading and unloading of materials within the yard or on customer job sites, builds load packages for delivery, ensures loads are balanced and safe, operates hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts or other devices, reads work orders, and adheres to safety procedures. The role includes attaching labels/tags for item identification, handling weights and shapes according to product knowledge, and performing related duties as assigned. The position requires forklift certification and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds periodically, with a focus on safe, efficient material handling in a production/yard environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- three (3) months experience performing these or similar tasks; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Forklift certification required
- Competencies: Requires forklift operator certification
- Knowledge of safety procedures while performing forklift driving and materials handling tasks
