Job Summary
Livestock Underwriter needed for Palomar, a remote-position role in the United States. Responsible for underwriting, administering, and servicing livestock insurance policies under federally reinsured programs. Underwrite in accordance with RMA Livestock Program policy provisions, underwriting rules, actuarial documents, and SRA requirements. Collaborate with agents and insureds, review applications, endorsements, and policy changes; verify ownership documentation, production records, and livestock inventories for accuracy and insurability. Maintain knowledge of RMA standards, Loss Adjustment Standards Handbook, and related program bulletins; ensure compliance with Federal program requirements and audit-ready file documentation. Provide guidance on reporting requirements, deadlines, and policy servicing transactions; assist with agent training and onboarding; support agent retention and business development. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting systems are desired. Remote in the United States with a focus on livestock program rules and underwriting expectations.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in underwriting, insurance processing, agriculture, or customer service
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Crop/Livestock insurance experience preferred but not required
