Job Summary
Lived Experience Recovery Volunteer role supporting adults in recovery through peer support, reception duties, group facilitation, and co-production of recovery groups and activities. Volunteers share lived experience to inspire and engage service users, participate in recovery academies and engagement activities, assist workers with client appointments where appropriate, and help develop resources and promotional materials. The role emphasizes regular weekly attendance (3 to 15 hours per week as agreed), teamwork, supervision and training, and promoting the benefits of treatment and recovery while guiding clients to appropriate services.
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to regular scheduled attendance
- Ability to attend supervision and training
- Able to work as part of a team, on own initiative and to instruction
- Genuine interest in Way Through mission and vision
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and adhere to policies
- Willingness to engage in supervision and complete relevant training
- Good verbal communication skills
- Non-judgemental attitude
- Understanding of harms of substance use
- Interest in supporting people with lived experience of mental health, housing, substance use, or related challenges
