Job Summary
Rotate within the department performing live hanging, crate handling, forklift driving, and backup to the finishing machine. Place legs of live chickens into shackles at required line speeds, insert drawers, load and unload crates off shuttle trucks, and keep loose chickens picked up off the floor. Report any equipment damage or mechanical problems to leadership immediately. Train others with skills gained from the position while observing all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies. Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks, consistently practicing safe work habits. Participate in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement methodologies. Follow all company animal welfare guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Night shift rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to stand and use hands for up to 8 to 10 hour shifts
- Ability to apply common sense and comprehend basic instructions
- Ability to effectively communicate with others
- Ability to work in a changing environment
- Must be observant and highly responsive
- Excellent hand/eye coordination
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to operate a forklift preferred
