Job Summary
Oversee bird movements including depopulation, repopulation, and vaccinations while coordinating NPIP blood draws and animal welfare monitoring. Conduct monthly barn inspections at all locations, perform quarterly UEP compliance reports, and manage SE monitoring activities across specific flock stages. Execute feed mill quality control checks, complete monthly biosecurity audits, and maintain flock folders with accurate documentation. Identify and report biosecurity concerns, animal welfare violations, and safety hazards to leadership for resolution. Work independently in field environments managing multiple sites while adhering to American Humane, GMPs, and SOP requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use standard quality control tools, including measuring instruments, testing equipment, and computers
- Ability to walk around the production floor and plant area when needed
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions that may be present on the production floor
- Ability to focus on and identify small details when analyzing data
- Must be able to comply with all workplace safety policies
- Must agree to comply with Hickman's drug and alcohol testing policy
- Must understand that a positive drug test or refusal to submit to a drug test may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time during inspections and report preparation
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Animal Science, Food Science, Engineering)
- Previous experience in live production operation, manufacturing, or food production
